My Latest Vid on How to Make a YouTube Backdrop on a Budget.

In my latest video I demonstrate how to make a youtube backdrop on a budget!!!!! This video took me 5 days to set-up, film, edit and upload. It is the fruition of a lot of time and hard work. What I did differently with the plywood this time was; after I scorched the grain I sanded it with several different grits of sand paper, then I stained with a dark cherry stain rather than grey, then I re-sanded to expose the grain, and finally i finished with a high gloss polyurethane.

However, his video is about more than the plywood desk which I admit became the focus of the video. In this video I hoped to communicate that a great looking backdrop can be achieved with stuff that is already laying around the house, like old comic books, old end tables, old boxes or old machinery. It only takes some work to modify or re-purpose old unused or plain items. Being a YouTuber takes time, effort, dedication, and typically some $$money$$. That’s sometimes a huge barrier for people just getting started out including myself. That’s why it’s important to use what you have, be resourceful, and make the best of your situation.

In my previous videos I showed how to scorch plywood to be used as a desktop which turned out satisfactory. I wasn’t familiar with the process at the time and if I could go back and do it differently I would have made some more effort to bring the grain out and used a different color stain.  A fresh coat of paint or stain can go a long way in bringing life back into an object.
